Mirrors

I had an interesting thought last night.  A craft-able item that could be placed is a mirror that allows shots fired by the placing faction to be reflected, yet opposing faction's shots would be absorbed as damage which when it becomes to much will break the mirror.  These mirrors could be hacked just as any other structure.  There would be both ceiling/floor types and wall types, which could be represented as two different recipes.  This will have to wait of course, but will make a nice addition after the basics of the game have been completely developed.

  1. So I'm guessing this would allow trick shots around corners? When thinking about this, what exactly can be done with these mirrors? Will shots reflect off multiple mirrors? I know that this isn't even in the developmental stage but just asking questions.

  2. Well, as you said this is still early in it's development, but it would allow another level of defense or strategy. I don't see why shots couldn't be fired that would reflect off multiple mirrors, though with the triangular nature of the world that I hope to create getting more than 2 mirrors to line up might be a challenge, with the possible exception of ceiling/floor or parallel hallways. This is really more of a wish list thing that is unique to laser or light based weaponry and couldn't really happen in a conventional projectile based shooter.
